Google censorship

Google Censors Block Access to CounterPunch and Other Progressive Sites

Now Google, at the behest of its friends in Washington, is actively censoring – essentially blocking access to – any websites which seek to warn American workers of the ongoing effort to further attack their incomes, social services, and life conditions by the U.S. central government, and which seek to warn against the impending warfare between U.S.-led Nato and other forces against countries like Iran, Russia, and China, which have in no way threatened the U.S. state or its people
Under its new so-called anti-fake-news program, Google algorithms have in the past few months moved socialist, anti-war, and progressive websites from previously prominent positions in Google searches to positions up to 50 search result pages from the first page, essentially removing them from the search results any searcher will see.    Counterpunch, World Socialsit Website, Democracy Now, American Civil liberties Union, Wikileaks are just a few of the websites which have experienced severe reductions in their returns from Google searches.

The folding of Britain and the US

A rather strange article from the radical magazine Counterpunch, Aug. 7, 2017

The Instability of Britain and the US:
How Do We Come Back From This?

Current political battles are so intense that they mask crucial long-term developments: Britain and America both look much more unstable today than they have done at any time since the Second World War. Some weakening of Anglo-Saxon dominance on the world stage had been expected in the wake of the Iraq war in 2003 and the financial crisis in 2008, but suddenly both powers feel as if they are starting to implode.
The pros and cons of Brexit are furiously debated in Britain, usually with the point at issue being the ultimate political and economic outcome of leaving the EU. But two important negative consequences are already with us: Britain is far more divided than it used to be and the Government is entirely preoccupied with Brexit to the exclusion of anything else. Brexit is like the tremors of an earthquake that shake apart weak and vulnerable points in British society, state and nation.

Gore Vidal dies July 31, 2012

Eugene Luther Gore Vidal,  October 3, 1925 – July 31, 2012, was an American author, playwright, essayist, screenwriter, and political activist. His third novel, The City and the Pillar (1948), outraged mainstream critics as one of the first major American novels to feature unambiguous homosexuality. He also ran for political office twice and was a longtime political critic.

With some telling comments by readers.

If one listens closely to the words of Gore Vidal, one wonders how he could hve been popular. There is a contradiciton, not on his side, but on the side of the American public. Obviously popularity doesn't ncessarily come along with understanding. Ohterwise American politics would be quite different. But his is, of course, not to count on Gore Vidal who was outspoken and highly educated. The Americans generally are of low education, as Vidal for himself compared often in contrast to the Europeans. Unfortunately, this low educated not knowing people easyly can be fooled and welcome to be fooled. This is an eminent danger, not the last, of which Gore Vidal spoke often.
